House Construction 9

Our new house is progressing!

I may not have mentioned that the previous house only had a partial basement under the front. The builders, after tearing it down, excavated the area without a basement (at the rear, amounting to about a third of the total floor area), to provide the new house with a full one. This blip, taken from the front, shows that area with its concrete foundation walls.

Here is the floor of the new cellar, with the wet concrete just poured! (I missed the pouring process by a few minutes--it took place through the entrance from the outside visible in the back.)

This shot is taken from the framed-out stairs down to the basement. The last two blips of the house in progress are here and here; from there you can follow things further back.
