Glaikit

Gailkit - adjective - Stupid, foolish, thoughtless, vacant. He stood there with a glaikit look on his face.

It is over 30 years since I left Scotland for my missionary work south of the border. And I am pleased to say that do not believe that my accent has diminished much in that time though I use very few Scottish vernacular words these days.

When I saw the expression on this fish face today only one word came into my mind. There is no other word that quite fits that expression.

Of course I do not ascribe any of the above characteristics to the person in the suit only to the facial expression.
