Feeding Frenzy

Walking the dog on the beach, we saw a black slick in the water with thousands of sea birds flying around & feeding.

Apparantly it was a dense shoal of Whitebait which had been in by the shore for a couple of days, with local fishermen being able to wade in & catch them from the shore.

The birds were eating so much we were amazed that they were still able to fly. Apparantly the seals were also gorging on them as well.

I was disappointed with the focus & light/colour balance, but the sun had only just risen so it wasn't that much light around then - such is life
