Sgwarnog: In the Field

Don't Walk

As I mentioned previously the centre of Bradford is currently a terrain of diggers and trenches as work on the City Park next to the City Hall continues.

For those of us that regularly walk across Centenary Square, a consequence of this has been an increasingly maze like set of diversions around the edge, which adds about five minutes to the journey time to the bus stop or station. The end product should be a more pedestrian friendly environment, but for the moment it feel's like 'Don't Walk' is the dominant message.

This shot is on one of the diverted sections, next to the disused BradfordOdeon(a story for another time). A lot of my time is spent waiting for the lights to change, and that is where I was when I snatched this shot this evening. Once again I've gone for interplay of light sources, with the office lights of the new
Southgate Building dominating, and the juxtaposition of the traffic lights and the Christmas tree. Alternatively, it is a fairly random, rushed, shaky hand-held shot. You decide. Just another banal aspect of commuting.

don't walk ~ the light ~ commands ~ but feet ~ are all I've got
