Urban Beauty?

Today I was treated to a visit to The International Horse Show at Olympia, West London. A rare trip into an urban environment by a couple of country bumpkins.

A great afternoon's entertainment included show jumping, dog agility - amazingly fast and action packed. The Shetland pony Grand National - fit little Thelwell cartoons being very competitive and extraordinarily thrilling but contrasting displays by Cossacks and the Houshold Cavalry.

I hadn't realised how old the exhibition halls are: quote 'When built in 1885 as the National Agricultural Hall, Olympia, it was said to be the largest building in the UK to be covered by one span of iron and glass' My blip shows part of the roof and the glass end to the central hall.

A grand day out, thanks Derek.
