AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL - SLUM CITY

Amnesty International invited architects, school groups, city planners and activists to build a slumby of gingerbread. The focus was on Amnesty's campaign against human rights violations in on of the biggest slum in the world, Kibera in Kenya.

With Slum City Amnesty wants to highlight the rights to living conditions, such as clean water, sewage, health care, school, work, and social networks, and especially the right to housing.

Over 400 000 living in Kibera are under 15 year and lack the right to school and health care.

30-50 percent of the inhabitants of the Kibera slum are not given any rights because of lack of birth certificates and id.

Today the slum city opened and I was there:-)

Hope you all have an excellent saturday!
