Famine

Snowing heavily here now, with usual incompetant drivers clogging the roads, for a change it was my wife that was 2.5hrs travelling a 20minute journey rather than me (my turn to make dinner).

I took this image at lunchtime in Cafe Mao, Dun Laoghaire: the irony of calling a restaurant after the person largely responsilble for some of world's greatest famines is beyond me.

We are so cosetted here, a tiny little bit of snow and life stops; while so many are so close to life & death around the world: I admire the images from Airborne Skygod. Its very interesting to see the reality of life elsewhere, unfiltered by press photo editors.
