A Sasanach's Skye photos

By Sasanach

Trawlers recently returned.

At times like these, I really do not envy fishermen. No sooner than they return to a pier than they get straight into sorting the catch. Well to be honest the crew may well have been working at it on their way back to base. It must be really cold work. Still the Seagulls appreciate the extra food.

I honestly do not know what the temperature is at this moment but yesterday afternoon whilst the sun was still shining the temperature out side the local supermarket was -10 C. It was much colder last night and remains colder today.

All the plumbing where our Washing machine is froze last night though I confess it is in an outhouse. We put extra heating on today. We are grateful that in the autumn of 2008 we installed a stove in our main groundfloor room. With that lit we keep reasonably warm.

Just now I look out of my office window and see a solitary cloud tinged pink by the setting sun. There is another creel boat at the slip offloading their catch i8nto the van that was reversed down the slip. There are still some boats to return but the sun has dipped below the hills. The temperature is dropping like a stone.
