As long as you've got your Elf...

... today was going so well - warming up for this little one's first Christmas - when we got a bit of a shock.

Baby42 (not a sicky baby and eats like a horse) refused her dinner and then started coughing. Then she was spectacularly sick. Everything she'd eaten all day just about.

But that wasn't the really worrying thing. Five minutes later she went grey and listless - floppy arms and looked really proper poorly.

NHS24 and then an appointment at the out of hours service not really what you want on Christmas 'Eve. But better safe than sorry. Of course by the time we'd got to the hospital baby42 had had a wee sleep in the car and was bright as anything, chatting to the lovely nurse practitioner that saw us.

She's safety tucked up in bed now with some baby paracetamol and lots of hugs.

I'm sure its something all parents go through at some point, but although we were calm and practical, you get a moment of panic and a terrible feeling in the pit of your stomach. The worst baby42's probably got a mild tummy bug or a touch of a fever, so I really feel for those people who's loved ones are really not well. I'll be sparing a thought for them tonight.

Fingers crossed she's better tomorrow.

Night all.

And Happy Christmas!
