Circle of the Seasons

Nor'easter Blizzard

It's our first real snow of the season.

They say on TV that the entire East Coast of the US is paralyzed by it, but here in Western Massachusetts we think of this as a modest storm. I guess they were much harder hit elsewhere. Or maybe it's just that we're used to getting truly *socked* with snow, and we secretly like it that way...

The first winter we lived here, we got over three feet by Christmas. The kids made igloos by digging caves in the sides of the tall white mountains piled up against the barns in our driveway.

Yesterday as the storm hit, Bruce drove his mother to Woods Hole to catch the ferry home to the Vineyard and the driving was awful nearer to the coast. When he finally got home his arms were stiff from gripping the wheel so tightly!
