Winds of Change

"Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are."

- Arthur Golden

These branches bring me Tawhiri's messages each morning and each season as I lie in bed and contemplate the new day through the open curtains. In the springtime I see the blossoms dance in joyous abandon for his amusement, skirts and knickers floating away as each dance concludes; in the autumn the leaves, all but the most tenacious, are ripped from her branches and sucked along with his mighty passage across the landscape, until the last one can hang on no longer.

Tawhirimatea - God of Winds - blows change into our lives. How appropriate that our summer is interrupted at this point, so close to the end of the year and a time of setting New Year's resolutions, with these stormy winds and rain from Tawhiri.

A timely reminder to reach inward and see who we really are. A timely reminder to be prepared to alter our course to make good use of that which can send us on an exciting new journey in this coming year. Sometimes having to deal with the things we fear most bring unexpected benefits.

Time to let Tawhiri help me chart a successful course this year and make New Year's resolutions I can keep!

All the snow blips must be having some subliminal effect on my photography :)
