SPOTTED IN A STREET IN OSLO # 10

Dont you hurt me .... :-))

The Graffiti is made by Herakut, a duo made up of the aliases Hera and Akut who combine multiple techniques of both spray can and traditional painting methods in their highly stylised street works. They come from Frankfurt and Erfurt, Germany. Their collaboration started when they first met in 2004. Both were invited to paint at the Urban Art Festival Sevilla in Spain and before that time had only seen each others work in graffiti magazines. They have completely different styles and work under the spell that opposites attracts.

Akut has no artistic background and started doing graffiti at the age of 14 and all everything he do is self-taught.

Different from Akut who had experienced graffiti closely connected to the hiphop-culture, Hera just felt the urge to work big-dimensioned when she originally started to paint on walls in 2001. As reaction to years of strict eductation of artistic techniques, Hera demands as much freedom as possible for intuition and spontaneity in a painting.

When Akut and Hera paint together, they work in shifts. Hera makes a sloppy background, and then Akut creates a detailed layer for the face without knowing what kind of body will spontaneously show up at the end. They love surprising eachother with the outcome.
Since the streetart is made of two persons there will always be two different messages or intentions.

When I saw this graffiti I thought it was made of one artist, a girl with one message.
One man is a bastard, that has been hitting one woman so that she has a blue eye, and then treating another one so that she give him the finger behind her back, and the last one he made pregnant. Happily everything is not horrible in life, because the bin is smiling :-))

I think the graffiti is rather cool!
