Christmas past

If I had a Christmas tree I'd be very tempted to discard it at this stage too! After several days the Christmas tree comes to epitomise the relative who's outstayed their welcome, the gift that didn't measure up to expectation, the partner (not mine I hasten to add!) you'd like to dump on the pavement and the excess of commercialism and waste.
