The Meet

Another really dark day. The hounds met at the local pub. All the farming and country people were there milling about eating, drinking and chatting away until the master addressed the field telling them not to follow the hounds across the land but to ride along the tracks and lanes where possible since the ground was too wet and a lot of damage could be done. There were only about 50 out today and nearly as many followers. Many horses are unfit having had little exercise during the big freeze.
