Transport

On monday 27 of december we went to Colombo.
Our daughter is doing a traineeship at the Dutch Embassy and knows herself around.
She knows excactly when a Tuc Tuc driver is asking far too much money and she manages to get the ride for an acceptable price.
So we walked along the seaside and went to Pettah where we walked over the market and through the narrow crowded streets.
Most tourists go to the standard things like Kandy but this is something else.

In the middle of the district we found the "Dutch House" which used to be the house of the governor in the 17th century.

I'm amazed of the buses at Sri Lanka, overcrowded, driving like crazy, belching out exhaust fumes.
Furthermore we drove around in Tuc Tucs; some of them drive like crazy, from Pettah to a Buddhist temple we (my son Robin and I) had one who thought he was Michael Schumacher; we tipped him because of his exellent driving.. the ladies in the other Tuc Tuc were not amused. Mrs P. was yelling at the man (in Dutch!) when he did another dangerous move but he did not listen (or understand).
We did a lot more; too much to tell you all.

The Blip shows two of the ways of transport, Tuc Tuc next to a bus.
