About 15 years ago the eldest (now 17) became ill on St Patricks night.

Despite cold baths and calpol. with many phone calls to doctors / hospitals etc. we took him to casualty at 2am.

The waiting room in A&E was full of males aged 21 - 55, hanging drunk, bits missing or falling off. The police were there to keep an eye on things!

The doctors did their best to explain to the patients that they couldn't have anaesthetic because of the ammount they had drunk. The patients couldn't understand or remember for more than 30 seconds.

We were there with a 2 year old freaking out about meningitis, amongst all the bedlam.

All was well in the end, and life goes on....but never again.

Have fun everybody, stay safe.

Good luck and best wishes to all hospital staff, doctors, nurses, police, paramedics and everyone involved in the emergency services.

Please excuse me I'm going to be busy indulging myself right here. See you next year.
