Zooming into the New Year

Happy New Year blippers :-)

As we're having a quiet night in, photo opportunities are a bit limited so I set this shot up by the Christmas tree. Camera on tripod, zoomed in on the cat ornament in and with the flash turned down to illuminate the ornament but hopefully not too much else. Room lights off also for the same reason. Set the camera in manual mode to between 3 and 5 seconds exposure to give me enough time to manually zoom all the way out, and with the aperture set to keep the background fairly dark. Finally, set the tree lights to a suitably quick flash rate and fired away :-). This was the nicest I felt out of 20 or so attempts.
