Open Water

We have arrived in the land of ice and snow! Heaps of it, piled up everywhere :)

Yesterday we picked up our new cross country skis from REI in Minneapolis before heading out to Luck. These were our Christmas presents to each other. We gave them a small test drive up the Chippewa trail, but most of the day was spent grocery shopping, getting the house in order and catching up with people.

Butternut Lake is frozen solid, and the ice fishermen are dotted around in their little huts. This is one little spot of open water (well just about).
