Weather to make a bronze statue cry

It's a dull, dank day and there's hardly anybody about in Port Sunlight. Last time I was out in the rain I noticed how the drops clung to the figures on the war memorial like tears, so I thought I'd have a go at photographing them. I got completely soaked - I'm so happy to be back in with a glass of sparkling wine and some DVDs to catch up on.

The forecast is better for tomorrow, cold but brighter, so I might head off to Dunham Massey to see how the winter garden is developing
