butterfly on christmas day...

well what can I tell you? We were watching doctor who? but instead of the unusual event taking place on the screen in front of us, the unusual event was instead the butterfly that was fluttering around the room on christmas day!

It is a truly beautiful creature that caused quite a bit of head scratching, the only working theory that we have is that the insect was hibernating within the chimney space in the house and when the fire went on, it thought that it was spring... sad, but pretty. I don't even know if butterflies hibernate though, but I guess they might and it's the only theory that makes any sense for this appearance.

oh... in other news, santa brought me a 50mm EF Mark II lens, one of the sharpest lenses that canon make apparently, expect to be seeing a lot of this lens, my AV-1 came with only a 50mm lens and it feels like an old friend on the 400D, I've set the camera to AV mode for old times sake ;-D

ps. i live in the west of scotland, where butterflies are extremely unusual (if not previously unheard of) in this area at this time of year... is this a sign of global warming perhaps??
