Fuzzy Buds

Happy New Year All! Welcome to 2011!

We started the day with fireworks at midnight and then home to bed. Got to sleep in which is nothing usual for me. R is always up much earlier. Since it was such a mild day for Decemb (oops) January, we decided to go to one of our favorite parks for a walk. And, of course, take photos.

When we approached this tree, I thought it might be a pussy willow. But after seeing it up close, I don't think so. And besides it is winter here and willow trees bud in the spring. The tree had these fuzzy buds (not sure if they are really buds) all over it with some having dead leaves attached. Aha! Google just identified it as a Magnolia tree!
