Timberrrrr....

Home from work this morning after a quiet night! Kaz and I packed our bags and drove down to Mum and Dad's house. We were planning on going fishing on Dad's boat tomorrow morning with Robyn and Dave depending on the wind and weather.

My brother, Craig, and brother in law, Andrew, were there and they were all cutting down a couple of big trees that were in the side and front yard. Andrew had brought his big tractor with a bucket attachment thing on the front and they had a couple of chainsaws as well.

By the time we got there they had already cut down the big lilly pilly tree in the side and were just about to start on the smaller tree in the front yard. I have lots of memories as a kid of climbing and playing in and under the trees. We used to make up all sorts of games. Mum and Dad's house used to be Dad's Grandfather's house and the trees were planted when Dad's Grandfather lived here so they were pretty old! It was interesting but a bit sad to watch them knock the trees down! The house is so much lighter now that the trees aren't covering the windows though!

We went over to the next door neighbours after that and had a chat with Katie and Damon while Spence played with their sons, Max and Hugo. The boys are lovely kids, Max is about 11 and Hugo, 9, and they love playing with Spence which is really lovely. Spence loves it too! They have a trampoline there which Spence has a great time jumping, running and wrestling on with the boys!

Robyn and Dave called just before and they are not going to come fishing with us in the morning so just Dad, Kaz and I will go out. Mum isn't working so she will look after Spence which is great! We will hopefully catch a few flathead or whiting! I don't actually like to eat fish or any seafood really, but enjoy going out in the boat and catching them!

Today's blip is Andrew in the tractor taking a part of the tree out into the paddock where they will eventually burn it. I have used Photomatix to tone map the photo and then enhanced the sky in Photoshop using adjustments and curves.
