xmas eve visitor

got back to northumberland wednesday teatime - just 45 mins late, thanks to a train stuck at berwick holding everything up (thanks to virgin for not bothering to announce wtf was going on til we arrived into alnmouth!). spent yesterday clearing and gritting a drive, trying to deliver gifts, helping unclog a drain and then doing some quality nothing, then today heading out early for the turkey and essentials with dad while the boss got herself sorted out in peace. delightful blizzards here and there, but nothing lasting too long, so things feel ok. shame we can't get to the veg tho - everything is under a foot of snow in the garden, and the ground is frozen several inches down. the bird feeders here are being well used tho - and this chap also has a hiding place inthe shed for when things get too much :-)

hatches firmly battened down and doors closed behind visitors and then time to relax with a little something alcoholic before bed.

-------

glad to get away really - a trying bloody couple of days ended in silence and email to say 'come and pick up your bloody present then, if you can't be arsed to so much as phone for five mins to say happy xmas'. seriously, you can't pone to say happy xmas, see you in a week or so? wtf?? i keep saying you're not that word, but you're trying my patience to the limit by behaving like you are one. Not Impressed At All. also unimpressed with the lack of card or gift, esp after the total lack of birthday dito. selfish? maybe - but don't friends give gifts? i just really want to talk all this out and see what's going on in your head, ffs.
