In the beginning....

In the beginning we are all just cells, and at the end, we are still just a bunch of, well, cells.
This is a photo-micrograph of some cells which were taken from a dog to diagnose a disorder, and is a salutory reminder that we are just a higly organised mass of cellular material.

This dog unfortunately didn't make it. The owners were devastated, but it got me thinking that we are all very much balanced on a precarious knife edge of life, and all pretty much made of the same stuff.
