The end of Weta

We have been lulled into the lazy hazy days of summer, until today. Misty rain and very grey.
I wandered past the old red wheelbarrow which had been filled with water from the garden sprinkler, and very surprised to see a drowned weta floating around with little airbubbles forming on him, and drips of rain plopping down. Weta's are one of New Zealand's resident creepy crawlies and I really don't like them, except when they are floating, like today.
