I apologise then, but will not make excuses for this. ;-) I took uninspired shots today, and this one was at least something different.

I did set my camera to save RAW files today, and discovered iPhoto is terrible at handling RAW images; it creates a jpg from them, and you work with that. Said jpg is fuzzy and lacking in detail when compared to jpgs saved by the camera.

Happily, the GIMP works much better with RAW files, so I'll keep experimenting.
