Gattonside Footbridge

This rather splendid bridge was erected in 1836, and crosses the Tweed between Melrose and Gattonside.

I'll Blip it in its entirety when it's not so blooming cold.

Meanwhile what you should know if you want to use it:

Horses, cattle and bicycles are not allowed to cross
Hand carts (max 3cwt) may only cross in daylight.
No loitering or intentionally swinging the bridge is not allowed

Max Penalty: £2 or imprisonment - probably a load of cash when this bylaw was enacted
