underfeet

Nothing prepares a weary face for a day at work better than a nice walk in through freezing, nippy air with nice solidly-frosted ground underfoot, even when walking is enforced due to bicycle component failure.

Unfortunately, nothing bollockses up the relaxingness of a nice walk in quite like a phlegm-hawking oaf letting his stupid dog run around all over the path without a lead.

Otherwise, there were noticeably less other people walking around compared to the last time I walked to work during the recent snowy phase. In the time it took me to walk the half-kilometre through Princes Street Gardens only one other person walked along the same path in the same direction. Although the opening-times of the various park entrances seem slightly erratic it's odd that more people don't choose to walk slightly further away from the buses and trundling suitcases.
