De Gaulle at the Grand Palais

This is an impressive statue of General De Gaulle, seen on a grey, wintry day from the steps of the Grand Palais in Paris.

(Edit 8 Jan 2011: I was back there today, and it may well have just been taken from the sidewalk near the Grand Palais. But it's always striking, and I think this is the best angle: it's a great man striding away from the rest of us.
