Hanging Red Balls

I went out to meet my girlfriend for lunch. I saw this while walking with her through one of the mall, hmm.. I can't remember the name of the building, but I like the hanging red balls.

My interpretation of the red balls:

They symbolized prosperity and world peace.
Somehow, it also symbolized togetherness and new beginning
of the new year ...
