#1 21 11.1.11

Born at 6.20 am twenty one years ago. About four weeks early, he appeared rather cut and bruised. So was I, and we both ended up in hospital for eight days after the event.

For a bit of fun, we had looked out one of his favourite toys this morning, and used it to anchor a birthday balloon in his room. He's had a day battling his brother with nerf guns (gift from #2). I am assured they didn't go fighting in any of the "good" rooms. I shall be carefully inspecting. #2, who is on study leave for exams this week, told me it was all about the important study of projectile motion.

We opened a bottle of carefully selected champagne, from a little vineyard we have visited in Northern France. Cork hit the ceiling. Then off for an evening of rather good Indian cuisine. Cake and coffee on return. We are stuffed.

I shall probably keep the "favourite toy" out of the attic for a day or two and get a Blip from it before it heads back up the ladder.
