Media Frenzy

Three days after the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords the Media is still here outside the Safeway grocery store in Oro Valley, north of Tucson. I could have shown the yellow sheriff's crime scene tape and the store, but I found this TV Crew scene more interesting.

At 4:30 pm, techies are preparing the man in the grey suit for broadcast of the evening news. He is getting fitted with a mike. He will be facing the evening sun with the store in the background. Notice all the reflectors and the lights that will properly illuminate his face.

There were three satellite trucks there from several stations, and quite a lot of support. People were writing scripts. Computers and printers were standing by in the trucks. One rather short lady reporter had an assistant carrying a stool for her so she could stand high enough to get her face at the proper level for the background scene. It was a very professional operation.

I won't comment about the event because everybody in blipland has already heard about it.
