An honourable history..

Off this morning to see my friend, Jim, the dentist. Still working on clearing up the trouble in December - but getting close now. February sometime should see it done.

In his waiting room he has this glass case full of antique dental paraphernalia. Some belonged to his grandfather, and some to his father. And a while back he had a good idea to display them to keep his patients entertained - along with the Reader's Digest, the large goldfish, and all the normal waiting room stuff.

Works well! The long instrument on the right was the way that X-rays were taken. The long probe was inserted into the mouth. X-rays were bombarded into the teeth/gums, and the operator looked at what was to be seen through the sort of round screen at the end. The Health and Safety implications are terrifying.

Jim does some field sports, likes malt whisky, and played rugby at international level. He also likes do-it-yourself, and just built a desk for our office! And is an all round good guy.
