Thaw

I glimpsed this seemingly still-frozen pond beside a minor road about a quarter mile north of the Crathes junction on the A93 North Deeside Road.

I parked the car in a track leading off into the trees and went to investigate.

The ice on the pond's surface was just in the process of melting, the ice still covering most of the pond looking milky white against the darker water round the pond's edges.
