The Secret Stairway

I wonder if the knight in shining armour will come and rescue the damsel in distress?

I have only noticed this feature recently, rather overgrown. Once the trees are in leaf, it is hardly visible. I really like the curved stairway round the tower and the crow-step gable. It is at the rear of the gatehouse in Maxwell Park, beside the Burgh Hall.

I felt that black and white worked rather well here.

Off to plan the 21st ceilidh. I knew it would be a busy week ... and it's not over yet.
