Our Village #2

"Very traditional, character property with immense potential...", can't you just hear how a UK estate agent might describe this old house on the corner?

Before we found the village house we now live in, this property was one of several that we made enquiries about, even though it wasn't and still isn't on the market.

As far as I can remember the owners live in Barcelona, but the price was way too high for us at around 400,000 euros... never mind the money that it would take to renovate! In fairness, we didn't appreciate just how big the plot is, but we still think they'll be lucky to get that sort of money. But then it's not for sale as such, and is probably a family house that will just stay in the family as the property market as we know it in the UK has not really arrived here.

It's a real shame though, that it will just sit here on the corner and deteriorate further.
