A Martian in a town called malice

Long day, up at 4am today to go catch 6:25am flight from Aberdeen to London for a day trip to Woking ... the flight finally left at 8:15am :-(

Anyway, a day trip is a good opportunity to look for a blip, so mustn't grumble :-)

So here, for your delectation, I give you a Martian in a town called malice !

Way back in 1898 while living in Woking, H.G. Wells wrote the sci-fi classic The War Of The Worlds, setting some of the action around his hometown.

In 1998, sculptor Michael Condron did this amazing interpretation of Wells' Martian Walking Engine which now graces one of the town's streets along with a Martian Pod and an actual Hawker Hunter jet fighter mounted on a pole ...

One of Woking's other claims to fame is The Jam who's song Town Called Malice is supposedly about the town.

Home again by 11pm :-)
