perspective

my friends used to tell me about their kids. not necessarily milestones like walking or talking. instead, it was more trivial developments....like my daughter blinked...or my son stood on his tippie toes....or he clapped today.

and i would pretend to care when in my head i would think 'really? this really gets you excited? my life is so much cooler than yours'.

then of course i had kids. and my son blinked for the first time and i made him do it again and again. and my daughter walks around on her tippie toes and i film it. and now she claps and i think she must have invented it.
