Baxter's Hideaway

Today, a day of multiple aftershocks, a day of everyone back to a high stress level and on edge. None more so than Baxter. He first started to show signs of stress and fear of the earthquakes on Boxing Day and now every time that we have a shake he freaks out. He heads for the hills or at least under the table and into his basket that we have placed there especially for him. I looked at him under there shaking and refusing to come out even when there was a treat on offer, unbelieveable for Baxter his life is his stomach. It got me thinking......

Its hard enough for us to understand and cope with all these earthquakes how must it be for all the animals in the area, they have no concept of techtonic plates and there movement. How could they understand, gee Baxter only has enough brain cells to keep him alive.

I hope they stop soon not only for myself but for Baxter, I want to see his tail functioning again all the time.
