The Fall

By the time I arrived on the scene an ambulance had already been called. She was surrounded by four women who were debating whether or not to pick her up. The lady herself was pleading to be helped up and insisted that she was OK and did not need an ambulance. She was pretty feisty and definitely compos mentis. She was adamant that she was not going "to that bloody Royal Free" hospital. I lifted her upright and escorted her home.
The ambulance arrived as I was leaving, and they were reluctant to stay but I made sure they called on the old lady to check on her condition.
