Hen Pecked - Chicken 101

So Blondie here is currently in isolation in my Growing Dome. She was the Top Hen in the pecking order until our Cockapoo Furby got her by the neck and drew blood. After that, "Pecker" decided to become Mother Hen.

(yes we have a hen named Pecker, Bela named her as a chick and none of us had the heart to tell her what that means, that and our uncontrollable laughter)

Blondie was getting attacked by Pecker and as you can see by the black scarring on her red comb. It's advised to separate the one who is hurt until it is healed, otherwise the other chickens will pluck it raw. In retaliation for isolation, Blondie is breaking every egg she lays by putting a nice hole in it.

PS - I was trying to get shots of the little foal playing tonight but alas he never was let out. I have 7 more chickens if I really need another emergency blip. My work has taken an upturn so it's been easier to blip at the end of the day and far less distracting.
