Day of the Triffids

Could do with a few triffids to clear out the new year attractions and start again.
Apart from the Big Wheel, the torchlight parade and the night 'afore fiesta it all seems a bit pointless, strictly for the tourists.
I used to enjoy new year but now can't be bothered, thinking of shutting the door and putting the lights out tomorrow.
Is it just me or am I getting older.
