Local History

Pictured here are 19 Local History Bulletins for which I act as Editor, Publication Designer and Contributor. My wife does the most important job, she is the Proof Reader. Also she is a Contributor.

We have published 550 pages of local history just relating to our parish. Is our parish unique? No, it is representative and therefore closely allied to national history. Delve into its history at any era and you find the bigger picture represented as a microcosm.

So, why am I blowing our trumpets? Well, we are just finalising the 20th edition of the Local History Bulletin. With that, regular publication will cease! It is a sad business but we have had a good run and should anyone want to piece together a book they will have plenty of material to draw from.

We have got to know many lovely people who would have remained only names to us. We are grateful for all the help we have received. But there is a downside. A lot of our former contributors (who were so encouraging and supportive) have passed away. With their passing, generations of memories have faded.
