Love at the Bull Ring

Caught the early train to Birmingham this morning. After failing to capture the sunrise from a moving train, I put the camera away until this evening when I took a walk to the Bull Ring shopping centre and took this shot.

This strange looking space-age building at the Bull Ring is home to the Selfridges department store and is clad in 15,000 shiny aluminium discs, inspired by a Paco Rabanne sequinned dress. It cost £60 million to build and has won eight awards including the RIBA Award for Architecture 2004.
