Ratte

Cold, damp and wet start to the day.
Which is not the best weather to start cycling to work! but things had picked up by mid-morning when we had a delivery of this year's seed potatoes!! now I know this may not be the most exciting thing to most people but on a cold wet day with a cup of tea and the office full of gardeners planning this year's veg plot it was heaven! LoL :-)

The Ratte (also known as La Ratte or Asparges) is a small potato with a unique nutty flavor and smooth, buttery texture. The variety originated in France or Denmark in the late 19th century and is a favorite of French chefs and works great for roasting and boiling.

it is also known as ratte de touquet
