Happy Australia Day

Although in the land of Oz it is Australia day + 1 it's still with us UK time and to honour the day I've gone for something crafty and Australian. Mookaite (sometimes known as Mookite) is an Australian jasper gemstone that is named after the place where it was first found, Mooka Station in Western Australia. It is considered to be a healing stone that bestows strength and is said to shield the wearer from difficult situations. This is one of my favourite stones for making jewellery as it's natural form brings a large variation of colours.
