Oh, Celia...

Celia Hammond : Model and Animal Rights Campaigner. Personally, I only really knew about the 'Model' part until recently. Her contribution to photography especially during the early sixties cannot be underestimated and lest not forget she was a wonderful muse to Terence Donovan in the early part of his career. Here's a wonderful photograph from one of their many collaborations together.

But, now she runs a number of cat rescue centres throughout the South East including just around the corner from me on Lewisham Way. Sadly, there seem to a helluva lot of abandoned and stray cats at present and apparently it is difficult to home Black and White ones. Why? That's anyones guess.
