Back and Forth thru time

sign of the times

In Egyptian mythology the cat god was called Bast, and was worshipped as a deity.

We have two cats in our house, and although their name is not Bast, its amazing how often one or the other gets called that. (Well actually we usually find that we add a couple more letters to the word if i'm honest.)

and we've been doing so well recently, no little gifts of crippled frogs, no tripping their owner up to get his attention, no removal of fur balls in the house, and no plaintive whineing to get any tasty morsels of food which are unfit for feline consumption, but clearly the owner's tea.

Today however they have blotted their copybook, big style.

Although its probably more accurate to say they've blotted the carpet, the kitchen floor and my third or fourth best pair of trousers.....ok, i've made that bit up, i don't have favoured trousers...

God only knows what animal it was, but there was a lot of it and it didn't agree with them..

So the household staff are back on vomit and vermin watch and all the cats do is look at me with an appraisng eye, thinking to themselves " if we were two foot bigger we'd eat you as well..."

I'm fairly sure neither of them actually are deities, but i'm not sure
if ANYONES TOLD THEM.

(saw the sign on a door this morning and snapped it prior to finding the carnage at home......,how lucky is that) hmmph
