Skirmish

A carrion crow mobs a buzzard, above the River Kent, Kendal, Cumbria

A quick blip tonight before we go out. I shall be back later on to catch up with comments.

I had a walk at lunchtime down to the River Kent, just south of Kendal. A buzzard flew over with two carrion crows mobbing it. This was the more persistent of the two, his agility in the air was extraordinary. The buzzard flew on taking no notice.

Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for last night's Breaking Through blip. The blip consultant clearly chose well.

I may add a bit more text later on.

I forgot: a new species for the 2011 bird list today, a male brambling in Kendal. Total for the year: 91.
