Buttermere valley

The fells looked blue today. Full of frost and mist. It had been a really cold night last night! We decided to walk up Low Fell from Thackthwaite. A new bridge was opened this week in Lorton. The other one was washed away in the Cockermouth floods 14 months ago. This made our journey to Thackthwaite much quicker. Low Fell looks straight down the Buttermere valley. It takes about an hour and a half to get to the top. You can see Crummock Water in this blip. Buttermere is in the mirk! On the right is Melbreak, which we climbed last week. Hound trailing was taking place in the area today. We saw quite a few hounds, and they almost made the blip!
